Vancouver Litigation Lawyer

Camelia Alikashani joined Meridian Law Group in May 2022 as an articled student and was called to the bar in 2023. Camelia practices general civil litigation, insurance law, personal injury law, family law, and commercial litigation. She has represented clients before the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.  Camelia is currently an active participant with Legal Aid BC and volunteers as part of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers’ Mentorship Committee. 

Prior to joining Meridian Law Group, Camelia completed co-op terms at an Aboriginal Law boutique firm as a litigation assistant, as well as at a non-profit assisting newcomers to the country and disadvantaged individuals navigate the legal system. Camelia completed a Bachelor of Arts in Social Justice at the University of British Columbia and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2022, where she also contributed to projects in the Business Law and Environmental Law Clinics.

Camelia has a history of contributing to the editorial process of academic journals, including the Canadian Law Review, Appeal Law Journal, and the Ignite Undergraduate Journal. During law school, Camelia was an executive member of the Racialized Law Students’ Collective. She was also part of the founding team for the University of Victoria’s Level Justice chapter as Director of Outreach, and later took on the role of Co-President.

In her spare time, Camelia can be found tending to her ever-growing collection of plants, attending spin classes, and going for walks. She also enjoys designing charcuterie boards and hosting wine & cheese nights.
