Vancouver Litigation Lawyer

Edward graduated from the UBC Law School in 1971 and received a British Commonwealth Scholarship to study in England, where he received a Masters of Law Degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1972. He returned to UBC as an Assistant Professor of Law for 3 years, teaching company law, municipal law, Landlord Tenant law, agency and Patents & Trademarks law. He also worked for the B.C. Law Reform Commission for one year before articling with the Deputy Attorney General for British Columbia in Victoria. Edward then returned to Vancouver to join the insurance law firm of Guild Yule & Company, and later Madden Suderman Malak and Bowes, and still later, O’Neil & Company. Edward was lead counsel for ICBC in their head office construction litigation and for the Province of British Columbia in its Skytrain construction litigation. After many years practicing insurance litigation, personal injury law, family law, and general civil litigation, he was appointed a Judicial Justice with the Provincial Court of British Columbia, where he remained for 15 years before mandatory retirement. Edward then joined Bilkey Law, where he practiced insurance defence litigation, and Lam Legal, where he did general civil litigation, before joining Meridian Law Group, where he practises civil and commercial litigation.

Edward is an advanced open water scuba diver and an experienced beekeeper. He received his private pilot’s license before his driver’s license, and many think that is why he now cycles to work on his bike.
